W3C or W#%! ???

Wow, has anyone ever paid a visit to the W3C's web site www.w3c.org ?
The World Wide Web Consortium. They're the (not the only, but the
main) web standards organization. Well, that's all great and stuff,
but they have a systemic problem. Most of their site is in a form of
academic, standardized, committee-created, pseudo-legalese that is
dense and uninformative. It's truly ironic that an organization so
supposedly dedicated to making the web standards-based and as
accessible as possible, makes their own documentation of these
standards totally inaccessible. I should say semantically
inaccessible. You can certainly obtain the standards freely (unlike
things like the ANSI C programming language standard, which costs a
fair amount of money). However, you cannot, in all likelihood, make
heads or tails of what the heck most of it means!
Remember, structure and presentation don't make difficult content
better accessible!
